I came across this fundraising site on the net today. Set up on the 21st of this month with a £5,500 target and reached over £100,000 pounds today.

2010 targets
2011 was a year marked by back trouble and a lot of plodding. Still, I completed 5 ultras and am feeling well rested for 2012.
This year (so far) my races include:

Scottish Bike Show 100 mile Sportive
Highland Fling race
The Scottish Ultra
The Cateran Way
The West Highland Way race
The Glenmore 24
and maybe the Glen Ogle 33 (again)
There may be more that that's enough to be going on with!

Personally I would rather £100,000 was going to help kids either in the UK, elsewhere in the developing world or some other worthwhile charity!
Without wanting to get into an argument over how money might best be spent, I still think it's amazing that so many people were prepared to part with so much money so quickly.
I guess it's a symptom of many folk's exasperation with religious extremism & intolerance.
